It’s a special day for Mandi and I as we celebrate our 17th anniversary! I’m so blessed to have such an amazing woman to share my life with. I love you! Ok, enough of the mushy stuff.
We spent last night in Twin Falls, Idaho before heading to Boise. We decided to drop the canoe in the Snake River and head up river to the Perrine Bridge, which is 1500 feet long and almost 500 feet above the canyon floor. We mainly wanted to do this so we could watch BASE jumpers from below. We were short on time so we used the electric motor to speed things up. Mandi was not happy as she prefers to exercise every chance she can. I think when we were cruising along and she had her feet up she didn’t mind too much.

After we wrapped up in Twin Falls we headed to Boise. A stop for gas and a weird angle to the exit of the gas station resulted in a broken cupboard door as the motor home rocked so violently that it seemed like I drove it through a ditch. As Mandi would say, NOT GOOD, NOT GOOD!
We arrived at Boise Riverside RV Park mid afternoon and got everything situated. The “campground” is in the middle of town so not your typical outdoor, in the trees, campfire every night type of place. That being said, it is very well laid out with great amenities (clean bathrooms, laundry, full hookups, etc.) and is in a very good place to run and do things in town. Every few days we need to fill water, empty tanks, do laundry, etc. so these places are critical for our adventuring. Plus it has a greenbelt paved bike and running trail right from the campground. Picture this: random river views, tree-lined canopy above the path where wild blackberries bloom (not ripe yet, much to Mandi’s chagrin).
We then inspected the damage to the cupboard door and it looked repairable so off to Home Depot for some wood glue and a clamp. In the end it went back together “perfectly”. Sigh of relief.
Mandi made a reservation at Chandlers Steakhouse for a night out to celebrate our anniversary. The place was really nice and we enjoyed a Delmonico Filet and a 14 oz lobster tail. Yummy!!
Oh yeah, it doesn’t get dark here until almost 10pm! We took Molly for a walk along the river and then called it a night. . .
You two are adorable, as usual. We’re glad Molly came along. I’m sure she would have a lively dog blog.
The RV Park sounds wonderful. Those amenities make all the difference.
Thanks for the update.
Sounds like a perfect anniversary day, minus the broken cabinet door. Then again you could make some goofy analogy about the glue that holds your marriage together, lol! Happy Anniversary 🙂
Are you going to add BASE jumping to your bucket list now?
No. Doesn’t have any appeal for us.
Mom, I don’t think so. I’ll plead chicken on that one.
